Cross Country Vehicle Trials
Moving up a level in severity (for vehicles and drivers), these competitions are for Cross Country Vehicles (CCV), which are usually not taxed or MOT tested for road use and driven only in off road events, therefore requiring them to be bought to the site on a trailer.
The vehicle is required to have an ALRC standard roll cage, a fire extinguisher and a seat belt (minimum lap belt) as well as any modifications that a RTV vehicle must have.
Similar sections are laid out in quarries and woods, as for the RTV trial, but with natural obstacles, steep drops, deep water and severe climbs used where possible.
Vehicles are run in classes (same as RTV) and trophies are awarded.
This type of trial is often the stepping-stone to other events, such as Inter Club Trials, or the National Championship in which many members take part.
